The dash is made out of 1.6mm tread pattern aluminium. It has incorporated the old
gauges and added the new marine grade switches I bought. I have also added a glove box. I
will be putting the radio in here as well as enough room to store some stuff.

As I removed all the old wiring I had to start from scratch. This shows
the rear of the dash as I am wiring it up. Once I have checked everything I will remove my
test wires and wrap everything in electrical tape. Once this is done I will add silicone
cable sealer and the outer ribbed casing. |
 |
I have made the wires long enough so I can unbolt the dash and sit it on
the floor. This will be handy later on when things go wrong. |

This is the speedo and Tacho that came with the buggy. I pulled it apart,
cleaned it then tested them all. They all work fine so I am using them for my fuel and
temp gauge as well. A very rare item to any beetle owner is the trip meter. |
