Fitting a Golf Master Cylinder |

Early VW's used a 17mm single circuit master cylinder. What this meant was that if any one of your brake lines got a problem and lost fluid then you lost all brakes. By adding a dual circuit master cylinder you can damage a brake line and you will only loose either front or back circuit. This makes it much safer.
The golf master cylinder is a 19mm bore, dual circuit and has its own reservoir, which is great on a buggy. Not to mention they are very cheap. Fitting the Mater cylinder is not real hard. You will need to use 3 bungs in the holes you don't need. Your rear brake line can be re-bent to fit into the new location ( top left as the photo sites) you can use you current front lines if they are long enough to reach. The brake light switch goes underneath . The picture pretty much shows everything you need to know.
When you add type 3 rear drums with kombi wheel cylinders and bigger wheels the golf master cylinder works a gem.
