Shock Canisters

One of the problems with stock trailing arms is the stock shock canisters which can easily get caught when off roading. Now you can cut them off and move the shocks up on top. If you do this you need to then modify your shock towers to fit the shocks. You could go shorter shocks but this would effect wheel travel. The simply answer is to compromise. By this I mean modify enough to gain clearance but not enough to effect shock length.

The shock canisters have been modified. This has been done to get the maximum ground clearance possible and to limit the chances of them becoming hung up on obstacles. This modification is done to allow the stock shocks to still be used and not limit wheel travel in any way.

This gives a front which is more likely to scrap over obstacles than get stuck. You should put the shocky on to test this just to make sure that you don't go to far and fowl the base of it on the new canister.
